FAQs
What exactly is clinical supervision different from consultation?
Supervision is more ongoing, often more formal; involves regular meetings, ethical oversight, professional development, feedback on your clinical work. Consultation can be more flexible, case-by-case, specialized advice or expert input.
Is supervision required for licensure in my state?
Depends on your state/licensure body. If it is, we can structure our supervision to meet those requirements.
Do you provide group supervision or only individual?
At this time, I am only providing individual supervision. I am open to starting group supervision if enough interest arises.
How do you tailor supervision or consultation to my specific practice style or client population?
Every clinician has unique strengths, challenges, and client populations. In our sessions, I tailor guidance to your specific cases, practice approach, and training background (including Gottman Method for couples). Together, we develop strategies, interventions, and tools that fit your style and help you achieve better outcomes with your clients.
Can I record sessions or share videos for supervision?
Yes (with proper client consent and confidentiality protections) — this can be one of the most helpful tools for improving relational work. This is also a key component of progressing in the Gottman Method.
Can supervision or consultation sessions count toward my CEU or licensure requirements?
Depending on your state licensing board and your goals, supervision sessions may count toward required clinical supervision hours. While consultation itself is not CEU credit, it can complement your professional development and help fulfill requirements for clinical growth or specialty training. Always check your state’s regulations to confirm eligibility.
